    <content type="html">As last year, I remember &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanislav_Petrov"&gt;Stansilav Petrov&lt;/a&gt; and his bravery on this day back in 1983. He risked his career and did not follow Soviet Air Force doctrine that would have led to a nuclear war.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Particularly in light of &lt;a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Hand_(nuclear_war)"&gt;Dead Hand&lt;/a&gt;, which was &lt;a href="http://www.wired.com/politics/security/magazine/17-10/mf_deadhand?currentPage=all"&gt;in the news&lt;/a&gt; I read this week. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thank you, Colonel Petrov.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img src="https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/commentcount?user=mylescorcoran&amp;ditemid=224036" width="30" height="12" alt="comment count unavailable" style="vertical-align: middle;"/&gt; comments</content>
