mylescorcoran at 11:15am on 23/12/2004 under boardgamesI was over at Marie and Utz's new apartment last night (Marie is one of our boardgaming/role-playing friends. Utz is her German boyfriend) to play Settlers of Catan and TransAmerica. As usual Marie won Settlers, but I managed to salvage some pride by winning the TransAmerica game. That TransAmerica is the far more random game does not detract from my victory one jot.
It's a nice aparment too, but the hallway is disturbing. There are five identical, dark brown, wooden doors. At first glance I thought I was in a maze of twisty corridors, all alike. Without prior knowledge of the layout of the apartment I could have as easily entered the airing cupboard as the living room. What's worse is I suspect that at least one of the doors opens onto some sort of extra-dimensional space. Modern apartments do this to me.
