[meme] RPG characters mix-up meme
Name 12 characters you have played in RPGs, before looking at the questions that follow. List your characters numbered 1 to 12, with the name of the RPG you played them in. Once you've picked your 12 characters, look at the questions and answer accordingly. (No peeking until you've picked your characters!) Put your answers behind a LJ-cut.
Well, I'm almost always a GM and not a player, so I've had to resort to some popular (or most hated) NPCs from the past. Here's the characters:
1) Who would make a better college professor: 6, or 11?
Hoo boy, neither Morganstern nor the Baron would be my choice of professor. I have to say Baron Malborne as he's got enough of the Machiavelli thing going on that he could teach Government or Politics.
2) Do you think 2 is hot? How hot?
Morgan le Fay is hot, in a dangerous sort of way. If she managed to seduce the famously chaste and Christian Sir Elad who am I to say she's anything less that the hottest sorceress in all of Britain?
3) 12 sends 8 on a mission. What is it, and does it succeed?
Well, ignoring the different campaign worlds thing, I'd say Earl Robert would have a use for a clever tracker and wayfinder, so Valdamar would be sent off into the woods to look for those missing Silver Rose fellows who've been lost for over a year. The mission would take ages, until Valdamar realises he should be looking in the tavern. Mission successful!
4) What is, or would be, 9's favourite book?
Something like a cross between Dianetics and Under Milkwood.
5) Would it make more sense for 2 to swear fealty to 6, or the other way around?
Agh. Neither of these strong-willed characters would bow to the other, but my money would have to be on Morgan getting the upper hand. She's a lot brighter than Morganstern.
6) For some reason, 5 is looking for a room-mate. Should they share a studio apartment with 9, or 10?
Rev. Mulliner would balk at sharing a room with a kleptomaniac sewerworker so he'd have to plump for Andrew Thomas, who can be charming when the need arises. Oddly, poor old Mulliner would end up doing all the housework and would never know why he keeps volunteering. It's a hard life living with an unscrupluous telepath.
7) 2, 7, and 12 have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?
Morgan le Fay, Gabriella and Earl Robert go out to dinner. I imagine it's a very up market restaurant, and Robert is paying. He keeps his head and gets through the meal with the occasional joust story while the women try to out do one another with tales of magical achievements. The conversation may stray onto spanking, at which point Robert orders more wine and minds his own business.
8) 3 challenges 10 to a duel. What happens?
Sir Francis is past his best as a duelist and Magdalen is a dirty fighter. Sir Francis gets his head cracked with a length of rusty pipe, I suspect.
9) If 1 stole 8's most precious possession, how would they get it back?
Valdamar would be really pissed off to have a prized possession nicked, even if it was taken by 'Spain's preeminent Genius!' He'd probably hire someone else to do the dirty work of getting it back, though, and the Four from Whitehall would give him a special rate for screwing with Cerebro.
10) Suggest a title for a story in which 7 and 12 both attain what they most desire.
Gabriella and Earl Robert attain what they most desire? Hmm. In-joke: "Marie-Sue moves to Lancaster", or "Anglo-Saxon Bloodbath"
11) What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 and 1 to work together?
Cerebro lives in alternate 16th Century England, Sagramore in fantasy Arthurian England. It's either a time travel device or the dimension hopping powers of Janas van den Blenk.
12) If 7 visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?
If Gabriella visited for the weekend I'd take her to see a Felini movie. She'd be impressed by the technology and pleased that a fellow countryman was the director. I'd studiously avoid talking about a) the Vatican, b) spanking and c) English petty nobles.
13) If you could command 3 to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?
I'd get Sir Francis to move Kit Marlowe to a different beat so he avoids the knife on 30th May, 1593.
14) Does anyone on your friends list resemble 11 (either in appearance or personality)?
Baron Malborne is a bully, a villain and looks like a cross between Ray Winston and Brian Blessed. I don't think that describes anyone, but if you'd like to fess up...
15) If 2 had to choose sides between 4 and 5, which would it be?
Morgan would choose Sagramore. Bastian Mulliner is too much a milksop to interest Morgan, and Saggy-pants is a good knight just waiting to be turned to the dark side.
16) What might 10 shout while charging into battle?
For Guild, For Raqad, For Clean Pipes!
17) If you chose a song to represent 8, which song would you choose?
The Petshop Boys - Opportunities (Let's make lots of money).
18) 1, 6, and 12 are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it?
Cerebro Masivo, Morganstern and Earl Robert walk into a Chinese restaurant... Okay, it has to be Morganstern, he's got the blood of Amber after all, and he's definitely the quickest off the mark. Cerebro might have seen the dilemma coming several pancakes back and he probably sneakily took an extra one earlier on. Earl Robert likes roast beef.
19) What might be a good pick-up line for 2 to use on 10?
My castle's sewers are in a frightful state. Can you please help me (bats eyelids)?
20) What would 5 most likely be arrested for?
Not precisely sure but it would almost certainly involve a very large pig and a constable's helmet.
21) What is 6's secret?
Morganstern isn' really the son of Julian. He's Julian's shapeshifted horse. This was revealed to the great embarrassment of the daughter of Amber who'd danced, revelled and slept with him only the night before.
22) If 11 and 9 were racing to a destination, who would get there first?
Well Malborne's a fine horseman, but Andrew Thomas could persuade the Baron to lend him his horse. Thomas wins.
23) If you had to walk home through a bad neighborhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 or 8?
I'd definitely prefer the company of Valdamar. He's a great tracker, good at getting out of scrapes and doesn't truck with faeries and dark powers.
24) 1 and 9 reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4's sinister secret organization. 11 volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that he/she is actually a spy for 4. Meanwhile, 4 has kidnapped 12 in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5, they seek out 3, who gives them what they need to complete their quest. What title would you give this fic?
