It's a wet morning, but miraculously I'm walking to work in a break in the rain. Lucky I thought. But no.

Some SUV-driving bastard squeezing by traffic on an inside lane just threw gutter water over me. Cnut.

::hands you a hair dryer and a towel to help dry you off - and a spike to let the air out of all 4 of the tires::

Thanks. I'm in work now, with a change of clothes, a radiator and a kettle for tea. Things are looking up.

This is the reason why all boy scout pedestrians should wear a belt and in their pockets carry a pen-knife, a length of string, and three cats-eye marbles.

I'd settle for an Anti-Tank weapon of some sort.

Weather was very bad last night here, raining, narrowish street, trying to keep an eyeout for other cars, cyclist etc when whosh, straight through a big puddle. Thankfully there was no pedestrian (I was inwardly cringing whilst quickly looking back), but I didn't see the water what with the weather and the darkness. So maybe it was the same for the other guy (although considering they were driving an SVU I am sceptical, bahh to SVU drivers). At least you had a change of clothes, I don't think I'd stay in work with wet jean, yuck!

One of the very few advantages of my current lifestyle is that when the day starts off like this, I have the option of turning around and going straight back to bed.

We have a problem sometimes with cars pulling up in front of our gallery in such a way as to block the entrance from pedestrians. The drivers are never actually interested in the gallery - they always just want to drop the laundry off at the launderette down the street, or do some other quick errand, and don't see the need to exert themselves to find a parking space. And a disproportionate number of those cars seem to be SUVs too - odd, that....
