I Am A: Neutral Good Human Rogue (6th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-10

Dexterity-14

Constitution-11

Intelligence-17

Wisdom-15

Charisma-14

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Rogues have little in common with each other. While some - maybe even the majority - are stealthy thieves, many serve as scouts, spies, investigators, diplomats, and simple thugs. Rogues are versatile, adaptable, and skilled at getting what others don't want them to get. While not equal to a fighter in combat, a rogue knows how to hit where it hurts, and a sneak attack can dish out a lot of damage. Rogues also seem to have a sixth sense when it comes to avoiding danger. Experienced rogues develop nearly magical powers and skills as they master the arts of stealth, evasion, and sneak attacks. In addition, while not capable of casting spells on their own, a rogue can sometimes 'fake it' well enough to cast spells from scrolls, activate wands, and use just about any other magic item.

Curiously I came out much less Chaotic than I have in such quizzes in the past. Maybe I'm growing more conservative in my old age. Also, with those stats I really should have been a wizard, but the Mages' Guild didn't much like the look of me, clearly.

Now that I have my stats - can someone explain what the levels mean?

The current incarnation of D&D has levels 1-20. Characters start at level 1, straight off the farm, still wary of dangerous animals like cats and weasels, and work their way up to the higher levels, gaining skill, power and lots of magic baubles on the way.

Levels 4-6, as this quiz seems to dole out, are competent but not particularly powerful adventurers and such. I think the so-called sweet spot[1] seems to be around levels 7-11.

[1] James Wyatt: "The reason there’s a “sweet spot” in the current game is that it’s the approximate range of levels where, purely by coincidence, the math of the system actually works. In those levels, PCs don’t drop after one hit, and they don’t take a dozen hits to wear down. In those levels, characters miss monsters occasionally, but less than half the time, and monsters miss characters only slightly more often. It’s pure chance, really, but it means the game is fun. Outside of those levels, the math doesn’t work that way, and the game stops being fun."

I Am A: Lawful Neutral GnomeWizard (4th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-9

Dexterity-10

Constitution-12

Intelligence-13

Wisdom-12

Charisma-10

Alignment:
Lawful Neutral A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs him. Order and organization are paramount to him. He may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or he may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot. However, lawful neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it seeks to eliminate all freedom, choice, and diversity in society.

Race:
Gnomes are in wide demand as alchemists, inventors, and technicians, though most prefer to remain among their own kind in simple comfort. Gnomes adore animals, gems, and jokes, especially pranks. They love to learn by personal experience, and are always trying new ways to build things. Gnomes stand 3 to 3.5 feet tall and live about 350 to 500 years.

Class:
Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.

I'm vaguely annoyed to only be 3rd level - but then I am dual class I suppose.

Dual 3/3 is 6th level, which is as high as you get from the quiz, I think. It seems to produce only 4th, 5th, or 6th level characters.
