F*ck the economy

I bought [livejournal.com profile] sammywol tickets to go see Midge Ure in Cork on December 10th. I've just received email saying the gig is cancelled.

"With the down turn in the economy and Company cancellations we could not go ahead"

ARSE!

Poor [livejournal.com profile] sammywol was really looking forward to it too.

Exactly. It's a crying shame. One of the lads in the office says at least I get the brownie points for trying but that doesn't get [livejournal.com profile] sammywol her Midge.

Dang. And that just causes a spiral. I'm so sorry!
Intercon MidAtlantic hit a similar problem, but went live anyway. This, no doubt, is because it's not exactly a business venture. That is, Gordon offered insane deals to make the con a go, even if it meant taking a personal hit in the pocketbook.
