Late night

Both kids are up tonight, one with nightmares, one with tummy ache. I'm here holding Rowan's hand as she goes back to sleep. She's not really asleep nor awake. Her brother's in the next room fitfully complaining as his mother tries to soothe his tummy pains.

There's a coincidence: I've just spent 2 and a half hours trying to get my own son to sleep. In his case, he couldn't sleep because his thoughts were invaded by a 'scary story' (he never dignifies them with the title of 'dreams'). And because his feet hurt. Things were not helped by my wife's continual coughing. Thank goodness we only have the one to deal with (son, that is, not wife).

Sympathies on the 'scary story' invasion and the coughing, either of which could ruin my night's sleep.

We had a repeat of this last night too, with both kids awake again between 3.30 and 5.00. I'm knackered today.
