[livejournal.com profile] sammywol and I played a 2-hander of Ticket to Ride Europe last night, breezing through in easily under an hour including set up time and a brain-fuddled recap of ferry and tunnel rules. It was a tight game with the scores within about 7 points of one another all the way through. I pushed ahead to run out my supply of trains quickly, taking only one additional ticket beyond my starting four. [livejournal.com profile] sammywol risked 7 tickets and was caught 4 green cards short of completing the lot, which cost her 22 points in all. Final score was [livejournal.com profile] sammywol 110+12, [livejournal.com profile] mylescorcoran 126+12. So that one ticket swung the game.

The bugger of it was that [livejournal.com profile] sammywol chose to take back a move - which I allowed of course - earlier in the game that would have completed that troublesome ticket. Oh the irony.

Are you giving this a thumbs up as a two player game? I think we have that in the games cupboard here.

You probably have the original Ticket to Ride, which has the USA map. It's supposed to work well for two, though the Ticket to Ride 1910 expansion is meant to improve the two player game particularly.
