This is a very good book. Episodic, sure, predictable too, but just beautifully written and compelling. I hadn't actually sat down to read in a few weeks (I know, it's awful) but I picked this up yesterday and read it pretty much straight through, or as straight through as I can manage with two young kids and a visit to my in-laws.

Highly recommended. I must now listen to Gaiman read it aloud as recommended by [livejournal.com profile] drcpunk.

I've been thinking about getting it, but the times I think about it, The Graveyard Book has been out of stock in some of my local bookstores. I should special order it from my local independent bookstore.

P.S. Did you see Neil Gaimon interviewed on The Colbert Report?

P.P.S. Did you see that this has been nominated for a Hugo this year?

I highly recommend it and it's a quick read. I saw the Colbert Report interview. Colbert's a real Tom Bombadil fan, the freak.

A Hugo would be excellent coming on the heels of the Newberry Medal. The Hugo novels this year are a strong field.

I'm surprised that I've heard of most year's Hugo nominees, and I've actually read "Little Brother" already.

I was lent a copy in Jan, and finished reading it last night (up past my bedtime). I think he could write the football results and I'd still enjoy it.
