Something funny is going on with our internet connection at home. Specifically it's not the connection but connecting to LJ that's the problem. We can't, you see. (I'm writing this from work.) We can't ping www.livejournal.com and a tracert dies at the last hop before www.livejournal.com on some machine at pnap.net (border9.ge1-1-bbnet1.sef.pnap.net [63.251.160.19] to be precise.)

I have a feeling that whatever IP address we're given via NAT by our ISP is being blocked. Bah.

I rebooted the DSL router once I got home. We got a new IP address from our ISP's DHCP server and suddenly we were able to reach LJ again. I suspect that LJ had blacklisted our previous IP address, probably because some spammer sh*thead had lifted it and was using it to spoof packet headers (or something like that).
