mylescorcoran at 09:16am on 26/04/2005We've got a new car, a gold-coloured Fiat Punto automatic with about 6250 miles on the clock. It cost us €8250, which isn't too bad, but I wonder how we'll feel the repayments over the next two years. It's pretty nice to drive too; a great improvement on the old car. Speaking of which, the old Punto, known affectionately as Royksopp or Florence depending on who you asked, went to the car wreckers last week too, and we got €50 for it. Fifty euro! What a disaster. Still that's €50 more than we paid for it, so I suppose we got our money's worth. It did get me through my driving test, I'll say that for it. Hail and farewell.
I've been driving most days since we got the car, partly because I still haven't got the resident's parking disc sorted out yet, so it costs us money to keep the car outside our house. Yesterday I got the receipt for the residents' disk, which I can display proudly in the window of the car and scare away clampers. So today I walked to work.
