1) Total number of films I own on DVD/video:
About 30-40 I'd guess. Slowly growing, but I note that I sometimes buy DVDs that I take years to getting around to watching. Too much time spent on-line, I'd say.
2) Last film bought:
The Incredibles
3) Last film that I watched:
On DVD: The Incredibles
On VHS: Who knows? It's been ages.
In the cinema: The Incredibles. I'm the parent of a two year old; I don't get out to the cinema often.
4) Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me, in no particular order:
George Cukor's The Philadelphia Story: A perfect comedy, with Jimmy Stuart, Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn. It comes round on TCM regularly and I'll always give it my attention.
Kurosawa's Seven Samurai or Yojimbo: It's hard to choose between these two, but either will do. Gripping stories, strong imagery, and real emotion in the characters. Tops!
Terry Gilliam's Brazil: Depressing, but in a good way. Great science fiction.
Terry Gilliam's Twelve Monkeys: Time travel that convinces and a Bruce Willis who doesn't go over the top.
Frank Capra's Arsenic and Old Lace: Poor Cary Grant's neck nearly seizes up with all the double-takes, and we suffer along with him, laughing all the way.
5) Pick on five people. Tag five people and have them put this on their journal.
