Does anybody actually read LJ pages directly at a LJuser's URL, or do we all just read our 'friends' pages and then hop straight to comments?

Anyway I've changed the style for my LJ front page as a token nod towards 2006 and all things different.

I consciously go and read a few particular journals if I feel out of touch with the persons concerned. Occasionally!

Ditto - if I haven't been online for a while and don't have time to trawl through twenty pages of friendslist, but do want to see what, eg, Myles has been up to. Though mostly I read from my "friends" page.

I like your new look, by the way.

Yeah, it's not bad. I'm undecided if I actually like the ratio of text width to border space yet, but it's probably easier to read than a wide single-column format.

I have done in the past, when I decide I like someone's writing style and topics, but don't actually know them enough to 'friend' them (yes, I know that's not how it works).

I do the same sometimes, but usually I'll read such blogs via Bloglines, and only occasionally click through to the actual blog.

I always read from my friend's page...and if for some reason I end up on someone's url, I nearly always drop a style=mine in because I find -most- lj styles nigh-unreadable.

That said, yours seems fairly unobjectionable (ie, I would not find myself reaching for the style=mine override).

Wow, that's praise indeed. And I mean that without sarcasm; there are plenty of lousy styles out in LJ-land.
