(Apologies to anyone to whom this is old news.)
Reading Jamais Cascio at the interesting World Changing site, I came across this. Now I knew I was well off compared to the vast majority of people on the planet, but this makes it pretty bleeding stark.
Now is probably a good time to remind you of this alternative to possible Yuletide consumer excess.

Everybody loves the tea cosy. I'm not sure how Sam's parents reacted, however, as they had to put it back on their tea pot afterwards. We all have to make sacrifices for great art.

Hi Brian.

This Christmas Sam and I are hoping to make the majority of our gifts charity donations of various sorts. Over on this side of the pond the obvious places to go are Oxfam, Concern, or Bóthar.
