Don't forget the breathlessly stage-astonished tones she said that in. It is very weird for me to hear her borrow and emphasize! my own intonations. It's spooky! Also possibly corrective.

That IS a lot!

I was chatting with the retired MD from across the street (who had been jogging past our house) and he dropped the bombshell that his daugther was also expecting triplets, this on top of the 3 year old they have at home. They were not using IVF and there was no history of triplets in either parent's family.

Triplets....brr!

I think that's more "Triplets...Oww!"

Unsurprisingly, Phoebe did not seem to undergo the difficulties or pain I would associate with a first singleton birth, let alone triplets.
