We were all sitting in the living room. Rowan brought up a tv show, Pablo
the Little Red Fox, and we ended up talking about the names of the
characters.

Mama (that's my darling wife): What was the cat's name?
Dad (that's me): Seamus!
Mama: No, I think it was Finbarr.
Dada: Hmm, no I'm pretty sure it was Seamus. Seamus, definitely Seamus.
Rowan (growling with disapproval): FINBARR!

That's me outvoted then.

You sure you're not thinking of Snooky Fudge?

I thought that the cat in SNOOKY FUDGE was called Fap.

I was wrong on the name and the spelling of the cat, then. In my defense I plead the local spelling of the patron saint of Cork, St. Finbarr (or Finbarre, or Fin Barr), whose esoteric orthography has obviously tainted my mind.

You're definitely showing your age :-)

Spap!

And now, to make you even more jealous... (http://www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mndwebpages/izzard%20set%20to%20wow%20west%20end%20in%20cabaret_1000671)

Fap, Spap, phooey. I plead overcompensation for Rowan's inability to pronounce 's' correctly.

And I am slightly jealous. I'm not a big fan of musicals, but it's Eddie.

I still have my copy of Snooky Fudge, close at hand :-)

I thought you'd be jealous - it's not just any old musical, either!

The expression on her face as she snapped her little head round at you and growled was DELICIOUS! Also as she almost certainly picked up the growl and stare habit from me I always appreciate evidence that is effective.
