My darling daughter has chosen to watch "The Wonder Pets" and I am fairly
sure my brain has stopped working as a direct consequence.

"The Wonder Pets" seems to be a show of the adventures of three pet animals,
a duck, a hamster and a terrapin. Horrifyingly, they sing opera as they help
save the day.

My mind, she is broken.

You have a female mind? That could explain a lot :-)

Hope it recovers, but operatic terrapins is quite a shock.

My mind is a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, hidden in a bowl of chocolate covered almonds.

Could well be female, alright.

Between this and the exercising Swedes, your daughter watches some of the strangest shows....

Magnus Scheving is an Icelander, and knowing small island folk's tendency to be fiercely proud of their origins I suspect Magnus wouldn't take kindly to being described as a Swede, or any other kind of root vegetable.

I think kids' TV is all "the strangest shows". Lazytown isn't the worst by any means.

This is why I intend to pick up the Muppet Show (which I nearly just called the Mullet Show, something that would be a different animal entirely), Fraggle Rock (which is, admittedly, strange) and all the Chuck Jones Loony Tunes on DVD rather than risk what is currently on the air.

Bec my Spelljammer GM's daughter is a fan of an anime called Hamtaro which is apparently cute and harmless, but the first time I heard her say it I could have sworn she was asking to watch some Hentai. That was a disturbing mental image, so count yourself lucky with the lisping duck and ambiguously bisexual Icelander.

Are these related to the evil Backyardigans? (If you don't know who they are you are blessed.)

The Wonder Pets are WORSE than the Backyardigans. I know you wouldn't think it was possible, but it's the horrible truth.

No! You fool, you're risking your mind and health. The duck has a lisp!

(I may have been wrong about the hamster. It could be a guinea pig. This doesn't change my overall perception, nor the pain in my forehead.)

Not witnessed the show personally (and managed to avoid The Backyardigans also) but had to agree with the comment about kid's tv being the strangest of shows.

If you visit Nickjr.com, you can find that there are flash Wonder Pets games as much fun/annoyance as this pre-school operetta / television show.

::B::

P.S. That's a Guinea Pig.

I realised this when corrected by my loving spouse, as I mentioned in a comment above.

And I've put nickjr.com and nickjr.co.uk in a black list for self-protection.
