But my glee is made of Hill Giant and Earth Elemental figs.

If it helps, I suspect that my wife will hold me to my word and the game will not be played until Christmas as, strictly speaking, this is a present for the family. Hah! The family consisting of one balding gamer geek with a bib to keep the froth of his clothes.

More seriously, I do hope it appeals to my wife too, as I'll get to play more often if it does.

Oh yeah, just to add nagging to the glee, when is The Dresden Files coming out?

Squeee! Is this another Christmas present you are going to trust to your wife? I am not sure I won't open the box either.

oooo, I look forward to getting that very same email! No doubt they have a lot of orders to fill and I just put in my order last week.

*claps excitedly*

Looking at your LJ profile I'm guessing that you're in the States, so I don't know when you should expect to see Battlelore, but it could well be before I see it. The post/mail in Ireland is only so-so for parcels and packages.

I will try not to be an ass about the Earth Elemental. Oops.

(Maybe you're getting one too through whatever system Days of Wonder have set up in the States. All I know is that it's different between Europe and the US.)

It is a little different in the States. I pre-ordered from my local (well, 30 miles or so) game store. As a result, I got the Hill Giant fig, stat card and lair hex. The earth elemental will be available at game shows, demos and by mail from DoW. I expect the game to be available soon (at the Game Castle).

Yeah, I understood that the Earth Elemental wasn't going to be available except at game shows and demos, at least initially. However given that the game is retailing at €70 here rather than the equivalent of $70 (or €53.22 by www.xe.com/ucc as I type), I think that the US punters still get the better deal.

I wonder what Days of Wonder will do for their webgames site once Battlelore is widely available. It would be great to take on some of the A&Eers across the pond (if we could handle the time zone difference).
